The famous cove formation of Playa Papagayo is undoubtedly one of the most popular on the island of Lanzarote. One of the first coves is called Playa Mujeres and is our very personal favorite. With its crystal-clear, turquoise water and its fine sandy beach, it attracts countless visitors every year. But not only the beautiful nature makes this beach so unique, also the activities and excursions offered make it a must-visit for every Lanzarote vacationer.

Playa Mujeres is located in the south of the island near the resort of Playa Blanca. It is part of the protected area Monumento Natural de Los Ajaches and consists of eight small coves separated by rocky cliffs. The entrance to the beach is subject to a fee until 4:00 p.m. (approximately 3 euros per person), which helps to keep it very clean.

Due to its clear waters, Playa Mujeres is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The underwater world here is extremely diverse, especially at the rock formations at the ends of the beach. Here, you can discover numerous fish and marine species.
